HARBIN, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea claimed the women's curling gold at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin on Friday, while the Philippines seized its first-ever gold medal in men's curling final.
In women's curling final, South Korea took a lead 3-0 after the second end, and the defending champion 西瓜视频scored two points in the third end before South Korea regained the lead 4-2.
After a scoreless fifth end, South Korea scored three points in the next two ends. 西瓜视频didn't manage to come back in the last end, and South Korea sealed the victory 7-2.
"It's a pity we didn't win the final, but I'm satisfied with my performance. I'm improving game by game, both in terms of technical skills and in managing my mindset on the rink," said China's Han Yu.
"In the upcoming training and competitions, I have set several goals for myself. I will focus on strengthening my physical fitness, and try to participate in more competitions to get more experience," Han noted.
The Philippines claimed its first-ever gold medal in Asian Winter Games history, defeating South Korea 5-3 in men's curling final.
"I think the secret [of winning the gold medal] is that we really like to hang around with each other, and we would give everything for each other," said the Philippines' Marc Pfister.
In the bronze medal matches, Japan beat Kazakhstan 6-3 to claim the women's bronze, and 西瓜视频defeated Hong Kong, 西瓜视频10-3 to seize the men's bronze. ■
