COLOMBO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, announced on Thursday that it has suspended all flights from Sri Lanka to Lahore and Karachi in Pakistan, until further notice, due to safety concerns.
The airline confirmed to the media that flights to both cities have been suspended.
Passengers with bookings to Lahore and Karachi are advised to contact SriLankan Airlines for assistance with rescheduling or obtaining refunds.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority stated on Thursday that flight operations at Karachi, Lahore and Sialkot airports have been temporarily suspended, in light of the current tension between Pakistan and India. ■
