TEHRAN, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, also known as Iran Oil Show 2025, opened on Thursday in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
More than 2,000 domestic and international companies are participating in the four-day event, showcasing their latest products and services. Among them are 150 foreign firms representing 14 countries.
The exhibition spans over 37 specialized areas, covering both upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry, as well as investment, finance, trade, and emerging technologies.
The exhibition aims to boost investment in Iran's oil and gas sectors, promote the transfer and development of modern technologies, and foster collaboration between Iranian enterprises and foreign investors, said Iran's IRIB news agency.
Throughout the event, expert panels, educational workshops, and conferences are scheduled to take place.
At the opening ceremony, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad stated that Iran's oil exports remain at peak levels despite intensified sanctions. He noted that since President Masoud Pezeshkian's administration took office in July 2024, Iran's daily oil production has risen by 150,000 barrels, gas output by 30 million cubic meters, and refining capacity by 180,000 barrels.
Paknejad added that the country's annual petrochemical production capacity has grown by 7 million tons, while gasoline and diesel outputs have increased by 7 million and 8 million liters per day, respectively.
He also announced that the ministry plans to complete over 30 major oil industry projects by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2026), with nearly 10 billion U.S. dollars in planned investments. ■
