BEIJING, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.26 percent to 3,860.5 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.63 percent higher at 13,005.77 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 2.28 trillion yuan (about 320.9 billion U.S. dollars) -- down from 2.52 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks related to the textile machinery and auto manufacturing industries led the gains, while ceramics and non-ferrous metals shares saw big declines.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.51 percent to close at 3,066.18 points on Monday. ■
