BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The State Council has pledged to cut logistics costs further, bolster green trade and ensure a bumper autumn harvest, according to a statement issued following an executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang on Friday.
More efforts will be made to reduce costs, improve quality and enhance efficiency to accelerate the development of a modern logistics system, per the statement.
The logistics sector should accelerate the construction and upgrading of digital infrastructure and integrate AI technology to a greater extent, according to the meeting, which also called for further short-term financing support for logistics enterprises, especially small and micro enterprises.
On the development of green trade, the meeting decided to move more swiftly in improving the related policy system, to enhance the capacity of trade companies to pursue green and low-carbon growth, and to create product, technology and service standard systems in line with international norms.
As the country expects to reap another bumper harvest this year, the meeting urged efforts to ensure a smooth autumn harvest and planting season, and to stabilize the supply and prices of seeds and fertilizers. Both government and market-driven purchases should be introduced to safeguard farming profits.
The meeting also approved a draft regulation on environmental monitoring, and revised rules on the use of the national emblem in external exchanges. ■
