UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Security Council on Friday adopted a resolution to renew the sanctions regime on Haiti for another year.

Resolution 2794, which won the unanimous support of the 15-member council, extends the sanctions regime, which includes an arms embargo, travel ban and assets freeze measures, for one year from the date of the adoption of this resolution.

It also extends the mandate of the Panel of Experts that assists the Sanctions Committee for a period of 13 months from the date of the adoption of this resolution.

The resolution adds two individuals to the sanctions list.

The Security Council introduced sanctions against Haiti in October 2022.
