KIEV, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed on Friday when a passenger train collided with a crane truck in Ukraine's western Lviv region, Ukrainian state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
The train traveling from Kiev to Uzhhorod in western Ukraine struck the truck at a level crossing, killing the train driver at the scene. The crane truck driver was injured and later died on the way to the hospital. The train driver's assistant was seriously injured in the crash.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a violation of traffic rules caused the crash.
According to local media, about 400 passengers were on board the train at the time of the collision, and no one was injured. ■
