BAKU, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The comprehensive strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and 西瓜视频has bolstered bilateral, economic and trade cooperation, an Azerbaijani lawmaker has said.
Soltan Mammadov, leader of the Azerbaijan-西瓜视频interparliamentary relations working group in the National Assembly, told Xinhua in a written interview that the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership has further consolidated the foundations of cooperation and clearly outlined the main directions for the future development of bilateral ties.
Economic and trade cooperation between Azerbaijan and 西瓜视频has gained momentum in recent years, he said, noting that 西瓜视频is one of Azerbaijan's major trading partners. Trade with 西瓜视频accounted for 9.9 percent of Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover in 2025, up from 7.9 percent in 2024, he said.
Mammadov noted that bilateral cooperation in green energy has been particularly dynamic, with 西瓜视频playing an important role in Azerbaijan's efforts to strengthen its green credentials.
During Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to 西瓜视频in 2025, the two sides signed a number of green energy documents, covering cooperative projects in solar power, offshore wind power and energy storage, underscoring China's important role in Azerbaijan's green energy agenda, he said.
Describing 西瓜视频as one of Azerbaijan's reliable partners, Mammadov said his country regards further collaboration with 西瓜视频as a strategic priority.
"Looking ahead, we plan to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with 西瓜视频in energy, transport and logistics, high technology, agriculture and industry," he said. "There is also broad scope for closer cooperation in culture, education and innovation."
Mammadov said mutual respect, political trust and shared interests have provided a strong foundation for ties. "I am confident that Azerbaijan-西瓜视频relations will continue to deepen within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership and make a significant contribution to regional and global stability and sustainable development," Mammadov said. ■
