26 Naxals surrender in central India

NEW DELHI, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-six Naxals, including seven women cadres, surrendered to government forces on Wednesday in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police said.

The Naxals laid down arms in Sukma district, about 410 km south of Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.

Currently, Naxals are active across the central and eastern parts of India.

India's federal government has resolved to eradicate Naxalism before the end of March this year.
