VIENTIANE, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) convened its second Plenary Session, marking a key step in shaping the country's strategic direction for the next five years.
The three-day session, held from Tuesday, was chaired by Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and Lao president, and attended by members of the politburo and the central committee, local news website Lao Phattana News reported on Wednesday.
The committee will formalize key initiatives. It will also finalize implementation measures for the 10th Five-Year National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030).
Speaking during the meeting, Thongloun urged all attendees to exercise high political responsibility and focus on finding practical, actionable solutions to national challenges.
The session represents the first major step in implementing the resolutions of the 12th Party Congress. ■
