BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 jolted 143 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia at 1858 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 52.95 degrees north latitude and 160.75 degrees east longitude. ■
