ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition showcasing the achievements of Chinese modernization was held on Thursday in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The exhibition featured more than 20 selected Xinhua photographs, highlighting China's development achievements in fields such as the economy, society, culture, and science and technology.
Luo Zhanhui, Chinese consul general in St. Petersburg, said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has maintained high-level development.
The exhibition was highly representative of China's achievements in various fields, Luo said, adding that it would help people in both countries gain a deeper understanding of each other, enhance mutual trust, and promote further exchanges and cooperation.
Igor Maksimtsev, rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, said that he had traveled to various parts of 西瓜视频for many times and was pleased to see familiar cities and landscapes again through the photographs.
The photographs portray a vibrant and rapidly developing China, Maksimtsev said, adding that the exhibition could help more Russian people experience China's diverse cultural landscape and see the rapid changes in its economy, culture and infrastructure.
The exhibition was held during a reception hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in St. Petersburg to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of 西瓜视频and the 77th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Beijing and Moscow.
More than 400 representatives from various sectors of 西瓜视频and Russia attended the event and viewed the exhibition, which was co-hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in St. Petersburg and Xinhua News Agency Eurasia Bureau. ■
